PCTSA Core Values

Core values are fundamental beliefs and guiding principles of our chapter. Values dictate behavior and help chapter members understand the difference between right and wrong. Finally, PCTSA's core values explore what it means to be on a collaborative and successful TSA team.
Community

Our team has engaged in various community service projects on both the high school and middle school levels, including but not limited to: a cancer awareness campaign, as well as a hair tying device for stroke survivors.

Leadership

Our chapter attributes countless leadership opportunities for high school competitors. High school students have the opportunity to mentor middle school teams at practice and help prepare them for future competitions.

Inclusion

Our chapter is constantly growing while enhancing our skill sets. Over the last six years, our chapter has grown from five to over 100 students and faculty mentors. Anyone can join and our chapter encourages students to develop new skills and go outside of their comfort zones.

Self-Improvement

PCTSA records and reflects on all past projects. After each competition, individual teams go over submission materials and revise for next year. These revisions have proven to be worth it, as teams continue to perform better each year.

Exceed Expectations

Our teams go above and beyond for every event we participate in, advancing most endeavors outside of the competition to assist the global community. Projects are often continued following the competition because of the desire for students to help their communities.

Competitive Spirit

Our chapter is the most prominent academic team in our school, and all our members are no stranger to overcoming challenges. Every obstacle is tackled head-on and the competitive spirit between teammates fosters a family-like community atmosphere.

About Technology Student Association

What is TSA?

The Technology Student Association, otherwise known as TSA, is a nationwide organization containing over 4,000,000 students both in high school and middle school. Its annual competitions at the state and national levels test students' mastery of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields. TSA originated in 1978 and was founded on the principle of establishing future leaders in the fields of STEM. In addition to learning new key principles in STEM fields, members of each team represent their schools and communities, by presenting their knowledge to renowned judges from across the countries. The TSA competition appeals to everyone, offering a wide variety of events from Fashion Design to Software Development. The variety of events allows almost everyone to find something they are passionate about.

Motto & Mission

The TSA Mission is “Learning to Lead in a Technical World” which is what the organization strives towards, that has competitions in 48 states. The organization strives to create leaders and in a developing world, full of opportunities. The mission of TSA is accelerating student achievement and supporting teachers by providing engaging opportunities to develop STEM skills. The organization as a whole aims to have members learn and develop in Technical fields such as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and apply their skills to the real world to solve problems around the world. These problems can apply to things like COVID-19, a problem occurring in the world that can be greatly improved with new technologies.
